Why Did 11 Senators Vote to Stop the Transportation Bill | Transportation Issues Daily

Thursday the Senate voted 85-11 (with 4 not voting) to proceed with debating MAP-21, the Senate’s transportation proposal.  That is very encouraging, but it’s just a vote to proceed.  It doesn’t mean there are 85 votes to pass a final bill.  There is lot of policy, and state-specific impacts, for Senators to wade through before they’ll vote for a final bill.
